21st June – IDYA Table Quiz Fundraiser for WFDYS Junior Camp

We need your help in sending them there! So we are hosting a table quiz! The table quiz is themed, and the theme is TV SHOWS!

AMBO RAMBLE FOR ETHIOPIAN DEAF PROJECT
The Ambo Ramble 40km/120km Cycle Event, which is being run in conjunction with Kilgrew Cycles, will be held in Cork on Sunday, 30th June. The fee to participate in the event is 50 euro on the day, or 30 euro in advance through the mycharity.ie website.

The aim of the cycle is to raise funds for the Ethiopian Deaf Project. This is a collaborative venture between the Irish and Ethiopian Vincentian Lay Missionaries and members of the Deaf community in Ireland. Its mission is to work with the Deaf community in Ambo, Ethiopia, to assist them in their efforts to establish a Deaf school, vocational skills training centre and a Deaf centre.

29th June – Come & Try New Sport…SQUASH *updated*

squashThere has been a change of venue (made on 14th of June) for the come and try Squash day.

The new venue is RTE, Donnybrook, Dublin 4

DSI will hold come and try new sport…Squash for adult & youth at Fitzwilliam lawn Tennis Club, Appian Way, Dublin 6 on Saturday 29th June. Anyone can come and have a go at any time between 10am to 5pm.

Irish Deaf.com 2003-2013 – Our Logo Competition

Last April, Irish Deaf.com ran a logo competition. We received many entries which were difficult to judge, due to the high standard of the artwork by all artists.

23rd June – Football Marathon

Football Marathon PosterDSI is pleased to announce the up-coming fundraising Football Marathon, to be held at deaf village Ireland on Sunday the 23rd of June.

Registration is now open for 16 Men’s teams and 8 Women’s teams.

The event will last from 9.30am-6pm.

All money raised will go towards supporting team Ireland in the 2013 Deaflympics, this July.

REVISED LIMITS FOR RENT ALLOWANCE

At present approx. 86,000 people in Ireland receive Rent Allowance from Dept. of Social Protection. It is paid to people who have difficulty paying the full cost of private rented accommodation, ie those who satisfy the scheme’s conditions and whose only income is a social welfare payment.
