This service, which is new to the UK, enables deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people to participate in live meetings and seminars, conference calls and video conferencing using standard telephony.
Using specialist technology, a qualified captioner delivers real-time captions of a meeting or conversation to an internet enabled laptop, computer, iPhone or Blackberry located anywhere in the world.
For conference calls, the client dials into the call, reads the displayed text on the screen and can respond directly to the participants in real-time. A full transcript of the meeting/call can be provided.
