TRIP TO LOURDRES WITH IRISH PILGRIMAGE TRUST.
The Irish Pilgrimage Trust have been in contact with us about their 2019 Easter trip to Lourdes. The closing date for applications is the 31st of October. The trip is open to: Young people with a physical disability or medical condition (aged 9-18). Young people with a learning disability (aged 11-30). Seriously ill children under the age of 9, accompanied by a parent or close relative. Young adults between the age of 20 and 25 with a disability or illness. MENTORSHIP TRAINING WITH SLIS FOR SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS.
Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) is setting up a mentoring system to support the quality & availability of sign language interpreters, with the intention to set up a panel of mentors in 2019 for interpreters seeking support for development of their competencies and skills. A one-day training course for interpreters registered with SLIS on ‘How to become an effective mentor’ will take place in SLIS’s office in DVI in Dublin on the 1st of November from 9am-4pm.
