YOUR VIEW ON BUYING HEARING AID?
Are you Deaf or hard of hearing and wear hearing aids? Have you experience
of buying hearing aids from private suppliers? We want to hear about your
experiences, good and bad? What advice would you give people who are going
into the hearing aid market for the first time? If you have any comments,
positive or negative, please get in touch with us.

RESEARCH ON CODA ISSUES.
A final year Speech and Language Therapy student in University College Cork
is carrying out a final year research project. The purpose of this project
is to explore the life experiences of adult hearing ‘Children Of Deaf Adults
’ (CODA’s).

The results of this project may help people understand more about the unique
life experiences of the hearing children of Deaf adults. This increased
understanding may benefit other hearing children of Deaf parents and their
parents.

If you are interested in participating in this research, please contact us
for more details.

INFORMATION ON REMOTE INTERPRETING SERVICE.
A short clip has been produced in sign language on the pilot Remote
Interpreting Services. Using Internet video software the interpreter can be
‘virtually’ present at any service location that has a broadband Internet
connection available.

The only additional hardware to provide remote ISL interpreting is a webcam.
This allows the remote interpreter to interpret the conversation between the
service provider and the Deaf service user without the need to travel to the
location.
