SIMPLY SIGNING TRAINING FOR TUTORS.
Our service is in the process of organising training with Simply Signing for
staff and ISL tutors in Kerry & Cork. This training will include a licence
to provide Simply Signing’s workshop to parents, creches and schools. Each
individual will be trained to present the “Ready, Steady, Sign” workshop and
will represent both organisations.  As part of the training, each person
will receive a training manual and Presenter & support material i.e. books
etc. If you are interested in this training, please let us know and once
details have been confirmed, we will be in touch with you.

First Animal Sign Book This vibrant book has been designed for all children
and adults to enjoy together. Colourful pictures, simple text and the manual
Irish Sign Language Alphabet make this ideal for first readers and young
children learning Irish Sign Language.

Helping A Little Hand To Grow Workbook level 1 – Now introducing Simply
Signing’s Level 1 workbook and music CD reflecting everyday activities and
interests.  Includes music CD, tips on signing, songs, nursery rhymes and
finger spelling.

I Can Sign the Alphabet book- This charming new book introduces children of
all ages to the alphabet in Irish Sign Language. Young children will learn a
second language as well as supporting literacy skills at a very young age.

I Can Sign with Sally Skye DVD- Meet Sally Skye and friends and join in the
fun learning signs and songs. Great fun for all the family, also ideal for
school and crèches.

ISL Communication fan- Simply Signing’s set of 4 Communication Fans depicts
Irish Sign Language and the Widgit Symbols.  Each fan has 5 signs and 5
symbols: Set 1 Doctor/ hospital appointment. Set 2 Meal time. Set 3 Social
skills. Set 4 Feelings.

BOOK & GIFT CLUB
Our Book & Gift Club is back again for 2014. The following products are

CDS STUDENT RETURNS ON PLACEMENT
We would like to welcome back Annik Dennehy who is on placement with our
service again this week. Annik was with us on placement last year and its
great to see her back in KDRC.

Annik first came across sign language while volunteering in Belarus with
Chernobyl children and her interest grew from there. She is now a 4th year
student on the Centre for Deaf Studies sign language interpreting programme
in Trinity College.  If you would like to meet with Annik and learn more
about the CDS, she will be here until Friday.

DEAF WOMEN SWIMMERS FUNDRAISER FOR ETHIOPIA DEAF PROJECT
Are you interested in swimming with the Deaf women swimmers group? If so,
why not come along on Monday 17 March at 12 pm to Forty Foot, Sandycove, Dún
Laoghaire. It will cost 10 euro per person and all proceeds will be donated
to the Ethiopia Deaf Project’s school in Ambo.  A clip in sign language with

AMBO RAMBLE CYCLE 2014
It’s that time of year again to start your training for this year’s 40km or
120Km Ambo Ramble charity cycle which will be held on Sunday 29th of June.
All proceeds will go to the Ethiopia Deaf Project. There will be slight
changes to last year’s route, these will be posted shortly.  Keep in mind
this is the last training cycle before the Ring of Kerry.  Like last year
the cycle will be starting and finishing at the Marion Hall in Ballinhassig
Co. Cork.

So for great routes, great food, hot showers and great craic, come along and
join the cycle. You can register for 30 euro at
