TRALEE STREET COLLECTION – THANK YOU!
We would like to thank the management at Manor West Shopping Centre in
Tralee for allowing us to hold a Collection there on the 13th of February.
We would like to extend a big thank you too to all the volunteers and to
those who donated to our collection. All money raised is very much
appreciated and goes towards the overhead costs here in our Centre in
Tralee.
STREET COLLECTION IN LISTOWEL – CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for volunteers for our next Street Collection which will be
held on Friday, 20th March in Listowel. If you are available to help
collect on the day for a couple of hours it would be greatly appreciated.

REMINDER OF 112 TEXT EMERGENCY SERVICE
Deaf & hard of hearing individuals can access Emergency services by text
message. Instead of 999, you send a text to 112 if you need to contact the
following:
Fire Brigade. Ambulance. Garda. Coast Guards
1st- register your mobile number. Send text to 112 and type in message
REGISTER. You will receive a text message “Now registered”.
2nd- Go to www.112.ie/Additional_
fill in personal details.
3rd- If an emergency happens, you can send a text to 112. Example of the
text would be “Need ambulance, man having heart attack outside Post Office,
Edward Street, Tralee”
REMINDER XVII CONGRESS OF WORLD FEDERATION OF THE DEAF
The XVII World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf will take place
in Istanbul, Turkey from 28th July – 2nd August, 2015 “Strengthening Human
Diversity”.
It aims to promote deaf people as a part of the global human diversity and
to strengthen human diversity in the global deaf community. Lectures,
workshops, panel discussions, meetings, booth presentations and
entertainment as well are a part of this event.

We would like to thank everyone who supported our Manager’s recent request
for sponsorship to send a Deaf colleague from Ethiopia to the congress. As
of this week, we have managed to secure funding to cover flights,
accommodation, food and conference fees. Our sincere thanks to everyone for
their support. We look forward to sending this delegate to the congress and
hearing about how she brings back this learning to the Deaf community in
Ethiopia.
6TH WORLD FEDERATION OF THE DEAF YOUTH SECTION (WFDYS)
The 6th WFDYS Youth Camp will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from 19th – 25th
July 2015. The camp will be held at the Ciroz Summer Kamp, Florya-?stanbul.
This camp is an historic one since WFDYS is celebrating their 20 years
anniversary. WFDYS camps are an important part of their work to achieve
full human rights for Deaf youth worldwide.
The camp is for Deaf people from 18 to 30 years old. Every country can
submit four participants (the third and fourth person will be on the waiting
list) and should represent the gender and ethnic diversity of their Deaf
