We’d like to send our best wishes to the Irish Deaf Society with their
latest venture. They will be opening a new charity shop in Phibsboro in
Dublin shortly.
Volunteers are required for an hour or two a week. If you have any free

The IDS are also looking for unwanted clothes, bric a brac, books, jewellery
etc. They will be organising a Clothes Drop day on Saturday 5th March from
11am-4pm at the Dublin Deaf Assoc, Lwr Drumcondra Rd. Alternatively,
donations can be left at their HQ at 30 Blessington Street, Dublin 7 (just
off Dorset Street) anytime Monday-Friday (9am-5pm)
GREENBOW 15th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
We’d like to send our best wishes to Greenbow- the group for Deaf lesbians,
gays, bisexual and transgender in Ireland. They will be celebrating their
15th anniversary from the 17th to the 19th of March. If you would like more

DUBLIN ARCHDIOCESE MASS FOR CHILDREN WHO SUFFERED SEXUAL ABUSE.
On Sunday 20th February at 3pm a Liturgy of Lament and Repentance for the
sexual abuse of children by priests and religious will be held in St. Mary’s
Pro-Cathedral. Margaret Woulfe will interpret this mass.
The liturgy will ask the forgiveness of God and of all survivors for the
failure of those Church leaders and many others in the family of the Church
to respond with love, integrity, honesty, understanding and compassion to
the pain and distress of survivors. During the liturgy which has been
prepared principally by survivors, Cardinal Sean O’Malley and Archbishop
Diarmuid Martin will wash the feet of a group of people who have suffered in
various ways through abuse.”
MUNSTER DEAF SPORTS ASSOCIATION (MDSA) UPCOMING EVENTS.
On Saturday 23rd of April, the MDSA will hold the 10th Inter Provincial
Basketball Championship League 2011 in Cork Institute of Technology.
Team Ulster will play against at Connacht at 10.00am. Team Leinster will be
in action against Munster at 11.00am. There will be a break at 12.00pm. This
will be followed by the loser of Match 1 against the loser of Match 2 at
1.00pm. Then the winners of Match 1 and 2 will play against each other at
2pm.
In addition, there will be the Men’s Football Semi-finals. The 1st match
will be between Munster and Ulster at 11.00am in the Cork Institute of
Technology Sports Stadium. At 11.15am in Pitch Two, Leinster will play
against Connacht. Later in the evening at 5pm, there will be a match for the
3rd and 4th place. The evening will end with the final at 7pm.
The MDSA will also hold a drinks reception and 3-course meal on the 24th of
April. Tickets cost 30 euro. There will be spot prizes and a Deaf karaoke.
The event will be held in the Oriel House in Ballincollig in Cork. The night
will kick off at 7pm with a drinks reception and food will be served at
7.30pm.

DEAF PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK.
The National Chaplaincy for Deaf People is planning a pilgrimage to Knock
from the 30th of April to the 1st of May. It will cost 75 euro, which
includes accommodation and evening meal in the Knock House Hotel.
