GYM SESSIONS WITH TRALEE IT.
It’s the New Year and some of you may have New Year Resolutions- if keeping
fit is one of them- why not come along to 8 gym sessions we will be having
with the Health and Leisure Dept of the Inst. of Technology, Tralee.

The 1st session will be on the 12th of February at 10am in the South Campus
gym. This year we will be working with 2nd year students from the APA
programme- Adapted Physical Activity.

Classes are provided free of charge as these are also a learning opportunity
for the students on how to work with Deaf and hard of hearing participants.
If you interested, please let us know ASAP, as numbers are limited.

PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH OUR SERVICE.
Our service provides valuable in-house learning opportunities for students
and to those seeking work experience. Due to popular demand, all our
placement opportunities from now until June are fully booked up. Over the
coming months, we will have Abigail Cahill, who is well known in the Deaf
community here once a week. In addition, her sibling Helen Cahill will also
be here learning about the linguistics of Irish Sign Language. Susanne
Mooney, originally from Germany and now living in Dingle will be here for a
number of weeks. We will also be hosting 9 interpreting students from the
Centre for Deaf Studies in Trinity College. Lastly, we hope to have an
interpreter student from Spain from mid March until mid June.

Our sincere thanks to all those who have requested placement with our
service. Our thanks also to our staff and to members of the Deaf community
for the continued hospitality shown to these participants. If you would like
to meet with any of these participants, please let us know.
