NEW SIGN LANGAUGE COURSES – KILLARNEY & TRALEE
If you have every wanted to learn Irish Sign Language now is the ideal time
as a new course is commencing in Killarney Community College. Classes are
dependent on numbers attending and are due to commence on Tuesday 27th
January from 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm. They will run for seven weeks and cost is
90e however, partial funding for the course is available upon request to the

Classes in Tralee Community College are due to commence again September 2015
and usually run for 16 weeks. This is an accredited course with an exam at

EQUALITY STUDIES FOR DEAF CERTIFICATE COURSE – UCD
Are you interested in participating in this year’s Equality Studies for Deaf
People Certificate course at University College Dublin (UCD)? If you are,

TALLAGHT DEAF CLUB – TRIP TO DUBLINIA
Are you interested in Dublin’s Viking and medieval history? Dublinia is
becoming one of the top family attractions in Dublin and a great place for a
day out and great fun learning about life in the medieval city and the world
of the Vikings. Tallaght Deaf Club is organising a trip to Dublinia –
Viking and Medieval City of Dublin on Sunday 25th January 2015 at 1.45 pm.
Entry fee is 5e and you can meet up on the day. An Interpreter will be
provided.
Meeting place is outside Jurys Inn, Christchurch Dublin at 1.30 pm or 1.45
pm outside Dublinia, High Street near Christchurch Place. Dublinia is
located at the crossroads of St Michaels Hill, Patrick Street and High
Street, in Dublin city centre. Dublinia is connected to Christ Church
Cathedral by a medieval footbridge.
You can easily get to Dublinia by public transport: By bus, numbers 49, 49A,
54A, and 123. By Luas, red line to the Four Courts, 7 minute walk to
Dublinia.
If you prefer to drive the nearest car park is Q-Park Christchurch car park
located on Werburgh Street, behind Jury’s Hotel. Dublinia customers receive
a special discounted rate of €2 per hour to a maximum of €10 for 24hrs when
parking in this car park.

IRISH DEAF WOMEN’S GROUP – AGM 2015
The Irish Deaf Women’s Group are holding their AGM on Saturday 7th March
2015 from 11 am – 2 pm at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel. All are welcome and
tea and coffee will be provided. Later on in the evening they are having a
Little Party Meal at 7 pm. The three-course meal will cost 40e for Members
and 45e for Non Members. There will also be prizes and raffles at the
evening’s event.
If you would like to attend the Little Party Meal please send your 20e
deposit by the 24th January 2015. Full payment is required by 20th February
2015 and can be paid by cheque or postal order to the Irish Deaf Women’s
Group. You can drop payment in to the IDWG committee or Sarah Moore at IDWG

NATIONAL CHAPLAINCY FOR DEAF PEOPLE – FATIMA PILGRIMAGE
The National Chaplaincy for Deaf People (NCDP) is organising a pilgrimage to
Fatima on Thursday, 16th April 2015. You will be staying in Santo Amaro,
Fatima for seven nights and will be accompanied by Spiritual Directors Fr
Gerard Tyrrell and John Patrick Doherty. The total cost for the trip is
599e per person sharing and includes flights, insurance, breakfast, lunch
and dinner.
