Kerry Deaf Resource Centre Update 18.05.15
OUR SERVICES.
Every week we bring you a wide range of news & interesting information on d/Deaf related items.
This week, we wanted to recap on the services we provide to Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened and Deafblind adults and children and to their families. This includes sign language users, hard of hearing clients who communicate through speech and to clients with cochlear implants.
These services are provided in our Drop In Centre in Tralee and on a limited
outreach basis throughout Kerry. Services are provided on a ‘request’ basis
by our full time Manager, 4 part time staff that work 2days per week each
and one CE funded position.
Customers can drop by our office without appointment Mon/Tue/Wed/Thurs
10am-1pm and 2-5pm & Friday 10am- 1pm. However, if you wish to meet with a
particular member of staff, we advise customers to contact us for an
appointment to guarantee their preference of staff member.
Even when you do not have a particular enquiry, we are happy to offer
customers a place to sit & relax, have a cup of tea, and to use computer
facilities to check email & the internet. We are also happy for groups or
professionals that work in the Deaf community to book our rooms &
facilities.
As we are a designated service provider and not a membership organisation,
most of our services are provided free of charge. However, a limited
numbers of services incur a charge such as Deaf awareness training, sign
language classes & sign language interpreting. For more information on any
of our services, please contact our Manager, William White.
