IDS ROADHSHOW INFORMATION SESSION
We would like to thank Geraldine Broderick & Patrick Doody for presenting an
Information Roadshow in our Centre on Thursday. This session was part of
the Irish Deaf Society’s Roadshow series.
The session covered a wide range of issues including: –
Water charges/Assessed charges/Rebates/ Caranua/ Marriage Equality Needs
You/Register to Vote/ Santa Fun Run.

EUROPEAN SUBTITLED FILM FESTIVAL
Kilkenny will host a week of subtitled films as part of the European Film
Festival “Subtitle”. It will be held from the 24th to 30th November. For

CAPTIONED (SUBTITLED) PERFORMANCE OF ‘SIVE’
‘Sive’ by John B Keane will have a Captioned (subtitled) performance on
Thursday 27th November at 8pm in the Everyman Theatre, Cork. Tickets

DEAFHOOD WORKSHOPS IN DUBLIN AND DERRY/LONDONDERRY
What is it like to be Deaf in today’s society? Why are Deaf peoples’
experiences important in understanding their struggles/presence in society?
What does being Deaf mean to you and what is Deaf Culture? Can you explain
this to people who ask? These are but a few of the questions that will be
covered by the Deafhood all day workshops in early 2015. Two are due to be
held in Dublin and two in Dungiven Co. Derry/Londonderry. John Bosco Conama
and Teresa Lynch will be joined by Alvean Jones to facilitate the workshops.

TALLAGHT DEAF CLUB – 2015 TRIP TO BERLIN
Tallaght Deaf Club is organising a trip to Berlin from Tuesday 7th April to
Saturday 11th April 2015. The trip is open to all. Return flights are from
Dublin Airport and you will be staying in the 4 star hotel, Ivbergs Premium
in Berlin. Accommodation is on a Bed & Breakfast basis therefore, you will
have to arrange your own lunches and dinners. The hotel is centrally
located to the shopping areas and is only a five-minute walk to the famous
KaDeWe Shopping Centre. There will be a Berlin city guided tour, a visit to
Potsdam, outside Berlin, and a guided tour of Castle Sanssouci and Park. Of
course, there will be free time allocated for you to do your own sightseeing
too.
The package which costs 290euro covers hotel, guide, coach driver and sites.
Provision will be made for an ISL Interpreter on the trip. Anyone
interested in going is requested to pay the Tour cost and non-refundable
deposit of 90 euro directly to Tallaght Deaf Club. Payment can be made by
cheque, cash (in person only), bank draft or PayPal.
