DEAFHOOD WORKSHOPS FOR 18-30 YEAR OLDS.
The Irish Deaf Youth Association (IDYA) in conjunction with Deafhood Ireland
are organising a Deafhood workshop for 18 to 30 years old. They will be held
on the 26th/27th of Jan and 23rd/24th of Feb. They will be given by John
Bosco Conama (PhD) and Lecturer in the Centre for Deaf Studies and Teresa
Lynch (currently pursuing her Masters in Deafhood in Bristol University) and
Lecturer in the Centre for Deaf Studies.
The workshop is to promote and understand why we are here, why we set
organisations and clubs led by Deaf people, why we fight for what we believe
in. It also aims to change negatives attitudes to positive ones and
understand the many reasons we are here to show the world who we are.
The workshop will comprise of presentation, dialogues and debating. Previous
participants in other workshops found it to be enjoyable and learnt a lot
about themselves. As this workshop caters to young people, the fee has been
reduced to 70euro. To register, email [email protected]
