Kerry Deaf Resource Centre Update 07.05.12
DEAF REVIEW WEBSITE LAUNCHED
A new review website has been launched in the US: deafREVIEW.com. The website is similar to the popular websites tripadvisor, yelp and others.
However, it is aimed at people who are Deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing.
Visitors to the site can read and write reviews about the deaf-friendliness
of businesses they visit. From restaurants to doctors’ offices, reviewers
can answer questions, such as “Is this business deaf-friendly? Why or why
not?”
Business owners will also be able to access many free features, such as
adding their business as well as accessing educational articles, videos and
tips on what it means to be deaf-friendly
(http://www.deafreview.com/
At the moment it seems that reviews are limited to certain US cities only.
But hopefully in the future this will expand to international locations. In
the meantime if you are travelling to the US, check out www.deafREVIEW.com
to find deaf-friendly businesses in the area you are visiting.
