After a comprehensive review the Board of SLIS has determined that it should
refocus the resources of the organisation to promote, represent, advocate
and ensure the availability of quality interpretation services to Deaf
people in Ireland.
The SLIS Strategic Plan contains an outline strategy for SLIS for the three
year period from 2011 to 2014. It focuses on articulating a clear role and
purpose for the organisation, which places it at the heart of the Deaf
community and which reflects both the needs of the Deaf community,
particularly in relation to interpreting and related services.
