KERRY  DEAF  WOMEN’S  GROUP  XMAS  DINNER  &  SOCIAL  EVENING
As the nights draw in, it is time to start planning for the Christmas season and festivities.  The Kerry Deaf Women’s Group are holding their Christmas dinner and social night from 6.30pm on Saturday 15th November in Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Rock Street, Tralee.  The cost of the early bird menu is 25 euro and includes four courses.  All women are very welcome on the night. If you are interested in going, you can message Bernadette O Connor through KDWG’s Facebook/Messenger.  You can also let her know if you require a Gluten Free, Vegetarian or special diet. A non-refundable deposit of 10 euro needs to be paid before the 8th November.

CHRISTMAS  MARKET  DEAF  VILLAGE  IRELAND
Continuing on with the Christmas festive theme, this year the Dublin Deaf
Association and Deaf Village Ireland are holding a Christmas Market on
Saturday 30th November from 10am–5pm at Deaf Village Ireland, Cabra Road,
Ratoath Road, Dublin 7.

Admission is free. The Hub Café will be providing: sandwiches, soups,
homemade cakes, Christmas pudding, scones, hot and cold drinks and also
mulled wine for the adults. Handcrafted Inc. will be selling jewellery,
gifts, cards, candles, knitwear and cakes too. For the children there will
be a Santa’s Grotto, admission charge of 5euro. There will be entertainment,
fun games, Christmas films, sweets, drinks and also a Santa’s goodie bags.

SANTA’S  FUN  5KM  RUN  OR  WALK
A FUNdraiser for the Deaf community has been organised by the Irish Deaf
Society (IDS), Inspire Fitness Centre and Deaf Sports Ireland for Sunday 7th
December at 1pm in Phoenix Park, Dublin.  Entry fee per Adult is 10euro
(over 16 years), Children are 5euro (over 4 years) and entry is Free for
Children under 4 years old.  All runners and walkers are very welcome and
all adult participants will get a free Santa t-shirt and a Santa hat and all
children participating will get a free Santa hat and Christmas gift.  You
can register early and pay, either at the Irish Deaf Society, Deaf Sport
Ireland or Inspire Fitness Centre desk or by going to the following link:

You can also register on the morning of the event. A late entry fee of an
extra 5euro applies, but this does not guarantee a T- shirt or hat.  This
should be a fun event for all!!!

E-INFO/DCC AND CODA UK & IRELAND  NEWSLETTERS
The Irish Deaf Society (IDS), The Deaf Community Centre (DCC) in Limerick
and CODA UK & Ireland have a regular email newsletter, which they send to
our Centre.  We would be happy to share these with our regular newsletter

WILLIE  WHITE  JOINS  CODA  INTERNATIONAL 2020  STRATEGIC  PLAN  WORKING
TEAM
We would like to extend our best wishes to our Manager Willie White who has
been selected to join CODA International’s Strategic Plan Working Team 2020.
CODA International is a non-profit organisation for hearing adult children
of Deaf parents. Willie will join other CODA’s from the USA, Australia & the
UK as they work on developing and drafting a 5 year strategic plan for CODA
International.

CHILDREN  OF  DEAF  ADULTS (CODA)  INTERNATIONAL  SURVEY
As part of CODA 2020, members and non-CODA members are being asked to
complete a survey to express their views, which will then enable CODA
International with their draft CODA 2020 Strategic Plan.  Closing date to
complete the survey is the 1st December 2014.  You can complete the survey

CODA  UK  &  IRELAND  SILENT  AUCTION
CODA UK & IRELAND will host a conference “CODALAND” in the UK in 2015. The
organising team are fundraising to support CODAs around the globe to attend
CODALAND. As part of their fundraising drive, they are holding an auction of
this exquisite one of a kind piece of art that was exhibited in London’s New
Designers Exhibition in 2010.

Measurements: 4” x 5.5” x 12.5”
Materials: Glasma Glass
Weight: 4.22lb
Colour: Cobalt Blue

The piece was crafted by making a two-part plaster mould from the artist’s
hand in this position.  This piece of work was made with the “lost wax glass
casting” process.  Through a ceramic funnel, the glass is kiln formed over-
night into a hollow mould of this shape. The item, open to national and
international bids, will be available to collect at the conference and they
will accept bids in £’s (you can use currency converter to calculate your
bid) emailed to: [email protected] Bids starting at £150.
