IRISH DEAF SOCIETY (IDS) – MOVE TO DEAF VILLAGE IRELAND
The IDS are moving to new offices in the Deaf Village Ireland (DVI), Ratoath
Road, Cabra, Dublin 7 on Thursday 24 April. Due to the move, their
communication service: e-mail, Internet, text message and telephone will be
out of service until further notice.
CISLI ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Council of Irish Sign Language Interpreters’ AGM will be held on
Saturday 14 June at DVI (time to be confirmed). Agenda and
committee reports will be distributed three weeks before the date.

CISLI TRAINING SUB-COMMITTEE
CISLI are currently looking to establish a Training Sub-Committee to begin
planning training events through the year. Cormac Leonard will head this
initially. CISLI are looking for up to four more CISLI Active members to
join and begin the process of getting some training going. Training events
will be focused on the needs expressed by members in their Member Survey

EFSLI SUMMER SCHOOL
The 2014 European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters Summer School will be
organised in cooperation with Bridge Interpreting Service in Ireland. The
organisers are looking for trainers who will be involved in carrying out a
professional training programme in regard to the topic ‘Team Interpreting’.
For this purpose, EFSLI invites experienced trainers from the sign language
interpreters’ community to share their expertise and work in a stimulating
European environment.
The course will be held will in Dublin from 11 July – 13 July.
The tentative schedule is as follows: Friday 11 July from 2 pm – 6 pm;
Saturday 12 July from 9.30 am – 5 pm; Sunday 13 July from 9 am – 12 pm.
The training will be presented in English or International Sign (IS).
Correspondence with EFSLI and any documentation (course handouts, feedback
forms, etc.) should be in English.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES: The deadline to submit training applications is the
7th of May. The selected trainer will be notified by the 21st of May. The
final training programme and materials must be delivered to EFSLI by the 9th
of June.

The EFSLI AGM will take place from 12 – 14 September in Antwerp, Belgium.

EFSLI TRAINERS SEMINAR “TEACHING MIND TRICKS?”
From Consecutive to Simultaneous Interpreting… and Back” EFSLI Trainers
Seminar, on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 September, also in Antwerp.
The theme of the Seminar builds on the topic of the EFSLI conference but
focuses more on pedagogical aspects. The programme includes both workshops
and presentations and allows for ample exchange and interaction. More
information on the programme and registration will be made available
shortly. It will be held in KU Leuven, Faculty of Arts, Sint Andriesstraat
2, 2000 Antwerp
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: EFSLI intend to end the Seminar on Tuesday 16
September around 2.30 pm, so that participants who would like to fly home on
the same day may take the train to the airport, arriving there around 4pm.

PRO-SIGN CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Pro-Sign project, funded by the European Centre for Modern Languages
(ECML) http://www.ecml.at/ is organising its second conference which is open
to all professionals, teachers and researchers interested in developing and
establishing common sign language levels. It will be held from the 24th-
26th of September. The theme of the conference is “CEFR for Signed Languages
in Higher Education”. The conference will be held at Universität Hamburg,
Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, ESA West, Germany.
