IRISH SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES STARTING IN TRALEE & KILLARNEY
Are you interested in learning Irish Sign Language (ISL) or know of anyone
who is? Kerry Education and Training Board are running classes in Killarney
and Tralee over the coming weeks.
Killarney Community College will start a nine weeks’ course commencing
Tuesday 30th September and classes will run from 7.30 pm – 9.45 pm. Mary
Duggan will be teaching these classes.
Tralee Community College will start a 16 weeks’ ISL FETAC Level 3 course
commencing Tuesday 7th October. Class times are from 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm.
Geraldine Broderick and Patrick Doody will be teaching these classes.

EQUALITY STUDIES FOR DEAF PEOPLE CERTIFICATE COURSE
The Equality Studies Centre, (UCD) and the Irish Deaf Society (IDS) invite
you to apply for a Course in Equality Studies. The Equality Studies for
Deaf People Certificate Course is the Introductory Module of the Certificate
in Equality Studies. The Course is intended for members of the deaf
community as an opportunity to come together and deepen understanding of how
society promotes equality/inequality for deaf people in Ireland.

OPEN DAY AT SPECIALIST EDUCATION SCHOOLS – CABRA DUBLIN
All prospective students and their families, and professionals working with
Deaf and hard of hearing children are invited to attend an Open Day at the
Specialist Education Schools for Deaf Boys and Girls in Cabra, Dublin 7 on
Friday the 17th October 2014 from 11am to 1pm.
St. Joseph’s School for Deaf Boys and St. Mary’s School for Deaf Girls
provide education at Preschool, Primary, and Post-Primary to Leaving
Certificate Level, including Transition Year, FETAC courses, and a
Post-Leaving Certificate course.
Those who may be interested in meeting the staff, parents, and students of
the schools, to experience and discuss the curriculum and services that are
provided are most welcome. There is also an opportunity to visit the
five-day boarding residences, the adjacent Deaf Village Ireland (DVI) campus
and the community sports and educational facilities there.

ONE DAY SUPER SALE
Ladies are you interested in updating your wardrobe? Or maybe you would

Deaf Society are holding a One Day Super Sale of new and designer bags,
shoes, clothes and toys on Friday 10th October from 11.00 am – 4 00 pm in
Cabragh Hall, Deaf Village Ireland, Ratoath Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.

FULBRIGHT AWARDS – OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
Are you interested in studying, teaching or researching in the United States
for up to one year? The Fulbright Commission annually awards scholarships
to postgraduate students, scholars and professionals to study, research and
teach across all disciplines in the U.S.
Applications are now open for the 2015-2016 Academic year to Irish or E.U.
citizens who meet with the awards eligibility requirements.
