EQUALITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS FOR DEAF PEOPLE
On Saturday 18th April the Irish Deaf Society (IDS) will host a workshop
from 10am–4pm in the Thomas Mahon Building, Deaf Village Ireland, Ratoath
Road, Cabra, Dublin 7.
The workshop will be on “Equality and Human Rights for Deaf people”. It will
cover the following topics: Irish and International Law; supports,
provisions and protections; and areas for future progress. All are welcome!

DEAF SPORTS IRELAND (DSI) – MEMBERSHIP
There is good news if you want to join or renew your membership to Deaf
Sports Ireland! The annual DSI membership fee has been reduced to just
10euro. It is their way of becoming a more inclusive organisation and
attracting more players to the Inter-Pro.

CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) International have announced that Catherine
White originally from Co. Kerry will be this year’s Keynote presenter at the
upcoming CODALAND conference in July in the UK.

LIMERICK COUNCIL – SUPPORT IRISH SIGN LANGUAGE CAMPAIGN
Limerick City Council has become the 40th local authority that has passed a
motion calling on the government to recognise ISL. The motion was proposed
by Cllr. Maria Byrne (FG) and was assisted by Lorraine Creed, Board
Director, Irish Deaf Society. Well done to them for bringing this motion to
the Council and highlighting this campaign!
CENTRE CLOSING FOR EASTER BREAK
We would like to advise everyone that the Centre will close at 5 pm on Holy
Thursday 2nd April and will re-open at 10 am on Tuesday 7th April.
