COUNCIL OF SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS (CISLI) WORKSHOP
CISLI are holding a workshop on Interpreting Ethics: Theory and Practice.
The workshop will run on Saturday, 1st November 2014, 10 am – 4 pm at the
CDS Trinity College Dublin, and will be facilitated by Dr. John Bosco Conama
and Lisa Harvey, who is currently studying an MA Ethics programme (Mater
Dei/DCU).

The workshop will be free for current Active members, or you can join on the
day. Student, Associate and Affiliate members will be asked to renew their
membership until the end of 2015 in order to attend.

As part of the workshop there will be a discussion of actual ethical
dilemmas that interpreters face in their work. Lisa will contact
participants before the training to ask for examples that would be
beneficial to tease out during the course of the day. Examples given should
not include any names or identifying information. Also bear in mind that it
may not be possible to examine all the dilemmas due to time and other
restrictions.

If you are interested in attending, please contact CISLI or email Lisa at:
harveyl@tcd.ie or text: 087 2191842. On a lighter note, if you do wish to
take notes at the workshop please bring pen and paper – unless you have a
very good memory!
