Job Title: Property & Facilities Manager

Location: Based at Deaf Village Ireland but with responsibilities for all CIDP locations

Salary: Based on experience

Contract duration: Full time – permanent

CIDP has recently gone through a significant period of building development with the delivery of Deaf Village Ireland (DVI). In addition, CIDP is responsible for a number of properties on the Campus at Cabra as well as at Marian on the Ratoath Road, Rosary on the Navan Road and lands and premises at Brewery Road, Stillorgan.

The purpose of this role is to provide a coordinated and professional approach to the day-to-day management and maintenance of CIDP’s assets. The Property and Facilities Manager will be involved in the strategic planning and day-to-day operations in relation to the buildings and general facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are the key areas of responsibility;

• Project & Change management for property and facilities
• Coaching mentoring and supervising staff within the facilities function across all areas of CIDP
• Develop an asset register of all properties and maintain leases, contracts and other relevant documents
ensuring that CIDP’s assets are protected at all times. This will include carrying out rent and lease
reviews in a timely manner
• Creating a standard set of policies and procedures around maintenance, facilities, fire, health and
• Manage an agreed annual budget and input into the setting of same annually with a focus on cost
• Working with the CEO and Finance function to agree a standard protocol for sourcing suppliers/
contractors and obtaining competitive quotes
• Ensure that any works done for tenants or other parts of DVI are appropriately invoiced and charged
• Implement an annual maintenance programme and associated budgets that ensures CIDP’s assets are
protected and maintained to an appropriate standard
• Ensure necessary maintenance of fire and smoke alarms and appropriate tests and drills are carried
• Engage with relevant insurance parties and obtain appropriate levels of insurance cover for CIDP whilst
always seeking best value
• Work with other organisations such as DVI to ensure effective security of premises and protection of
CIDP’s assets
• Utilities Management – Bi-annually review utilities for all CIDP areas of operation and ensure pricing is
• Developing and implementing appropriate training across areas such as Health & Safety; Fire training
and manual handling ensuring appropriate staff are fully trained and also that where appropriate others
are trained in delivering the courses

Key Requirements:
• Significant experience of services and activities of a multifaceted maintenance programme
• Extensive understanding of building construction and maintenance with thorough knowledge of building
regulations and controls
• Demonstrated experience in managing a budget
• Understanding of Health and Safety legislation including Fire safety requirements
• Experience of managing people and setting clear objectives
• Technical expertise in the use of CAD and other relevant software packages
• Strong proven negotiation skills
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to train, motivate and supervise employees
• Good communication skills
• Proven ability to work to challenging timelines and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Ability to be able to read, draw and interpret plans for building construction and renovations
• Present ideas effectively
