Find out about all of the accessible events for both families and adults at the Science Museum

This month, registration for Early Birds opens and there are British Sign Language events at Lates.Upcoming Accessible Events

Early Birds – registration is open!

Sunday 17 March | 08.00-11.00     

Early Birds is a sensory friendly morning for families with children (ages 4 -15) who need a quieter environment to enjoy the museum.

The next Early Birds will be all about The Sun: Living With Our Star. There will be open access to the new exhibition and interactive spaces like The Garden and Wonderlab: the Equinor Gallery. As well as a chance to explore the museum, there will be lots of fun workshops and activities all about the star of our solar system that will take place until 11.00.

Lates – BSL Events 

Wednesday 27 February | 18.45  – 20.45

Join us for events in British Sign Language (BSL) at Blood and Revolution Lates to find out about the last imperial monarchs of Russia. Just book for general admission and then add on a BSL ticket.

19.00 | BSL Tour: The Last Tsar 

Explore the extraordinary lives and deaths of Tsar Nicholas II and his family in this new exhibition. Join John Wilson to uncover the science behind one of the greatest mysteries of the 20th century. 

20.15 | Interpreted talk: DNA and the Last Tsar

Discover the story behind identifying the remains of the Romanovs. The investigation stretched over twenty years and it was a DNA sample from HRH Prince Philip that enabled scientist, Dr. Peter Gill, to identify the missing family and understand how they died. Book now for Lates

VIscovery Day is a series of events for families with members who are visually impaired, partially sighted or blind.

Mobiloo – changing spaces toilet

Sunday 17 March | 08.00-17.00

Mobiloo is the world’s first attended, mobile changing toilet and changing facility for disabled people who cannot use a standard accessible toilet. It has a tail-lift, a full x/y electronic hoist, height-adjustable changing table, toilet, sink and waste disposal, gloves, wipes, and all the consumables necessary. 

The Mobiloo will be available outside the Science Museum Groups entrance on Imperial College Road, all day on the 17 March for visitors to any South Kensington attractions. Mobiloo website

Power UP returns

Limited tickets available to our relaxed session

We’re excited to announce our hands-on gaming event, Power UP, will be back in April 2019. We will also be bringing back our hugely popular sensory friendly session, where you’ll be able to play more than 160 consoles, from retro arcade standards through to the latest in VR technology, in a quieter environment.
